Minister Encourages Displaced Somalis to Return Home After National Army Liberate Cities from Alshabaab

The Minister of Defense, Abdulqadir Mohamed Nur, has visited the recently liberated cities of El-la Helay and El Garas, urging the displaced Somali population to return to their homes. These cities were under the control of the notorious Alshabaab, but have been successfully liberated by the national army.

During his visit to El-la Helay, a city located in the Galgadud region, the minister assured the residents that the security situation was now stable and fully under control. He expressed his praise for the national army’s successful operation against the Khawarij extremists, who have long plagued the local population with terror and extortion.

The minister also commended the bravery and cooperation of the local heroes who supported the national army in their fight against the militants. Their contributions were crucial in driving out Alshabaab from these cities and restoring peace.

In light of the recent military achievements, the government remains committed to providing humanitarian assistance and support to those affected by the violence and displacement. The minister encouraged the displaced citizens to return to their homes and actively participate in the reconstruction and development of their cities.

Alshabaab, the Khawarij extremist group, has been waging a brutal insurgency against the Somali government and its people for over a decade. While they have suffered significant losses in recent months, the group still poses a threat, carrying out frequent attacks across the country.

It is imperative for the government and the international community to continue their efforts in ensuring stability and security throughout Somalia. By liberating these cities and urging the displaced population to return home, the national army and Minister of Defense are playing a vital role in the country’s progress towards peace and development.

As the Somali people reclaim their cities from the clutches of Alshabaab, the hope for a brighter future becomes stronger. With ongoing support from the government and determined individuals, Somalia can move closer to lasting peace and prosperity.
