The Minister of Economy and Head of the Emirates Tourism Council, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, held individual meetings with tourism ministers from Indonesia, the United Kingdom, India, and Japan during his participation in the G20 Tourism Ministers’ Meeting in Goa, India. The meetings aimed to strengthen tourism cooperation between these countries and the UAE.
Bin Touq emphasized the UAE’s commitment to developing tourism ties with countries and building fruitful partnerships in various tourism fields. He hailed the UAE’s efforts, accelerated steps, and extensive investments in launching a distinguished tourism infrastructure that adheres to the best international practices, and developing pioneering and diversified tourism destinations and products.
During his meetings, Bin Touq highlighted the significance of the UAE Tourism Strategy 2031 and its vital role in supporting the sustainability and competitiveness of the tourism sector in the country by the next decade. The strategy set national objectives to make the UAE the best tourist destination globally and increase the tourism sector’s contribution to the UAE’s GDP, attracting AED 100 billion and 40 million guests.
The UAE’s vision and directives, under the wise leadership of the country, have contributed to a unique tourism sector that exudes immense appeal. The tourism sector has always been a top priority for the country, and these meetings with tourism ministers from various countries further reinforce that commitment. The UAE remains steadfast in its efforts to boost and enhance its stature as a leading tourist hub globally.
