On Thursday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan offered prayers and took part in the divine wedding procession of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati in Sambalpur, Odisha marking the occasion of Sital Sasthi. Speaking to ANI, Pradhan said: “We are fortunate that we have attended the wedding of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. As per the rituals, the idols of Lord Shiva and Parvati were shown to the public in a grand procession and offered darshan for two days. With great joy and devotion, the Sital Sasthi festival was celebrated throughout Odisha where Shiva temples can be found.”
The wedding between Shiva and Parvati was solemnized and Vedic mantras were chanted, and conches and cymbals were sounded in celebration. These festivities begin on a Wednesday afternoon and last till the early hours of the following Friday. The Sital Sasthi festival is said to have originated several centuries ago when King Baliar Singh, the then king of Sambalpur, was devoted to Lord Shiva and wanted to celebrate His divine marriage. It is an annual event in the region and it displays the vibrant culture, art, and religious traditions of the area.
Neuralink, a company founded by Elon Musk, has been cleared to begin human trials of its brain implant technology. The product whose whole concept is to allow people to merge with artificial intelligence promises to make this possible by reading brain signals and converting them to binary codes. By implanting these neural implants into the brain, Neuralink hopes to help humans stay informed about medical conditions and even be able to interact with artificial intelligence. However, this technology and its application in humans are still in its infancy stages due to the complexity of the human brain and complexities of robot-human integration. It will most likely take a long time for this technology to become commonplace, but it is an exciting field that is sure to bring immense possibilities to the human race.
