A startling crossover between Friends and Home Alone has been unearthed, and our minds are well and truly blown. Earlier this week, Scott Westwood posted a video on Instagram, proving that the Friends couple actually moved into Kevin’s old home.
‘So I just learned that Chandler and Monica from Friends moved into the McCallister’s house from Home Alone,’ he began, before sharing earth-shattering evidence.
‘So this is Chandler and Monica’s house,’ he said, zooming into an episode from season 10 of the home the couple moved into when they left Manhattan, before combining it with footage of Kevin’s neighbors.
‘You see here, this house with the garage? Well, doesn’t it look familiar?,’ he continued. ‘And if you want further proof – what’s next to the Murphy’s house? This house with the wreath.
‘Do what you will with that information. Merry Christmas.’
Naturally, the clip sent everyone into a spin as fans took a moment to process the fact that Monica and Chandler were next door neighbors to Old Man Marley.
Scott’s post managed to get the attention of Daren Janes, who claimed to have actually worked on the sitcom, and is listed as the art director for more than 200 episodes across the 10-year run.
‘This is hilarious…..,’ he replied. ‘…..You caught me… I was the Art Director on Friends & the house was a set.
‘The actors walked in the front door, so we saw outside. We used the backing from a company called Pacific Studios which was made for Home Alone because it looked the best through the door & windows. Great eye my friend!!!!’
Followers couldn’t help but react in the comments below, with many drawing on iconic Friends moments.
‘I didn’t know a marketing trainee and a chef could afford a mansion,’ one joked.
Another said: ‘Not possible, Home alone is in Chicago and Monica and Chandler’s house is in Escrow. I couldn’t even find that on the map!’
An impressed Instagram user quipped: ‘I didn’t know a Transponster!! made such good money.’
As a viewer suggested: ‘The Bings should’ve adopted Kevin and saved him from his abusive family.’
