Migrant Worker Arrested for Attempted Rape and Murder of Woman in Bengaluru
A shocking incident of attempted rape and murder has left the city of Bengaluru in distress. A migrant worker from Odisha has been arrested in connection with the tragic incident that took place in the Mahadevpura area. The accused, identified as Krishnachand Seti, allegedly attempted to rape a woman who worked at a petrol bunk in Laxmisagar and subsequently murdered her.
On Friday, August 11, the lifeless body of the victim was discovered in front of her house, leaving the entire neighborhood in shock. The deceased lived with her sister, who also worked at the same petrol bunk. The accused, who lived in a neighboring house and worked as a security guard at a tech park, is believed to have been keeping a watchful eye on the victim’s movements.
According to the police, the woman did not show up for work on Thursday. During the night, when she briefly stepped out of her house, the accused allegedly dragged her into his residence with the intention to rape her. However, the victim bravely resisted and tried to call for help. In a tragic turn of events, the accused closed her mouth with one hand and strangled her with the other hand, causing her death by suffocation.
Following the brutal murder, the accused wrapped the victim’s body in a bedsheet and concealed it in a corner of his house. The next morning, around 5:30 am, he callously dumped the body in front of her house. To further deceive the onlookers, the accused mingled with the crowd and pretended to be shocked by the incident.
However, the police grew suspicious as the accused failed to provide convincing answers during initial questioning. After intensive interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to the crime.
