Microsoft is integrating the power of AI across its entire data and tech stack, with Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella reporting increased usage from AI-first start-ups and some of the world’s largest companies. Over 230,000 organizations have already utilized AI capabilities in Microsoft’s Power Platform, marking an 80% increase quarter over quarter. Additionally, organizations can now tailor Copilot, Microsoft’s AI-powered tool, for Microsoft 365 or create their own custom Copilots.

Nadella highlighted the widespread adoption of Copilot, stating that it is being used by over 10,000 organizations, including An Post, Holland America, PG&E, PayPal, and Tata Digital. By using Copilot to answer common employee queries, both PayPal and Tata Digital have been able to increase productivity and reduce support costs.

Numerous studies and Microsoft’s own research emphasize the transformative role of AI in improving productivity. Generative AI has shown up to a 70% improvement in productivity for specific work tasks. Furthermore, early Copilot users of Microsoft 365 experienced a 29% increase in task-related efficiency, such as searching, writing, and summarizing.

Nadella also mentioned the growing Copilot ecosystem, with independent software vendors (ISVs) like Atlassian, Mural, and Trello, as well as customers such as Air India, Bayer, and Siemens, developing plug-ins to enhance Copilot’s capabilities.

Azure, Microsoft’s cloud computing platform, has reported significant growth in its AI customer base. With 53,000 Azure AI customers, over one-third joined within the past year. Microsoft’s models-as-a-service offering allows developers to leverage partner models on Azure without the need to manage underlying infrastructure. The company has also incorporated support for OpenAI’s latest models, including GPT-4 Turbo, GPT-4 with Vision, DALL-E 3, and fine-tuning.

Regarding Azure OpenAI adoption, Nadella mentioned that over half of the Fortune 500 companies, including Ally Financial, Coca-Cola, and Rockwell Automation, are using the service.

Microsoft has introduced Copilot as a stand-alone destination accessible across all browsers and devices. Additionally, they have launched a Copilot app on iOS and Android, providing on-the-go access to the latest models for quick answers and high-quality image creation. Copilot for Microsoft 365 personal and family subscribers is also now available.

In summary, Microsoft is leveraging the power of AI across its entire data and tech stack, witnessing increased usage from AI-first start-ups and major corporations. The company’s AI capabilities, such as Copilot, have garnered significant adoption and are proving to be valuable tools for improving productivity and efficiency in various industries.
