A law firm’s investigation into the alleged misconduct case involving former Michigan State University (MSU) football coach Mel Tucker has concluded without identifying the source of the leaked information. The confidential details of Tucker’s relationship with advocate Brenda Tracy were made public, sparking a probe by the agency Jones Day. According to the report, investigators were unable to determine who disclosed the information relating to the Office for Institutional Equity (OIE) investigation or Tracy’s identity. Tucker stands accused of sexually harassing Tracy during a phone call last year. Tracy’s attorney Karen Truszkowski has stated that her client’s identity was leaked by an external party without her knowledge or consent. MSU Interim President Teresa K Woodruff expressed disappointment at the potential breach and reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining privacy during all investigations into relationship violence and sexual misconduct. In October, Tucker was found to have violated several terms of his contract during a hearing, leading to his termination. Tucker’s lawyers plan to file an immediate appeal. The coach’s dismissal also means he forfeits the remaining amount of his $95 million, 10-year-contract.
