On May 28, the Women and Child Development Department of Madhya Pradesh will be holding a menstrual hygiene training and awareness programme under the auspices of the Udita Yojna. This programme is part of International Menstrual Hygiene Day and will be conducted at different project levels with the involvement of CDPOs.
The training programme for menstrual hygiene has been divided into two parts. The first part focuses on health check-ups and support for adolescent girls while the second part of the programme provides education and training to girls and women between the ages of 18-49. During the event, doctors will provide advice for menstrual health.
For the event, budget money and detailed guidelines are being issued under the Udita Yojna for the programme’s preparation. The aim of the Udita Yojna is to promote the health of adolescent girls, creating a platform for discussion and information on nutrition and health.
In addition to promoting menstrual health, this scheme also provides sanitary napkins, nutrition education, health training, and discussions. There will also be funds provided to project officers for training programmes in each district at the rate of Rs. 100/- per participant and Rs. 1,000/- per batch.
The training programme and awareness event on May 28 will provide a valuable platform to address the health and hygiene issues surrounding menstruation, while at the same time providing resources for proper health and nutrition for adolescent girls. The Women and Child Development Department is dedicated to improving the wellbeing of teenage girls in Madhya Pradesh and making sure they receive the essential care they need.
