Meghalaya Class 10 Results: Only 51.93% Students Pass

On Friday, the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) declared the results of the Class 10 final examinations, wherein only 51.93 percent of the appearing students were declared successful. Samridhya Das from Sherwood School, Tura secured the first rank with an impressive score of 572 out of 600 marks. Jyotipriya Bhattacharjee from St Margaret’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong achieved the second position while Tanushri Acharjee, Ritam Deep Chowdhury and Salrime M Sangma from the same school secured the joint third rank with a score of 564 marks.

Out of the total 51,280 students from 656 schools, only 26,629 were declared successful. The pass percentage was lower than last year’s 56.96 percent. The MBoSE also announced the results for the Arts stream of the Higher Secondary Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination for Class 12. The pass percentage decreased to 80.30 from last year’s 81.17 percent. Larisa Lamin from Adventist Higher Secondary School, Thadlaskein, obtained the first rank with a score of 450 out of 500 marks. Avelyne Francisca Khriam and Deinamesha Hynniewta earned the second and third rank with a score of 449 and 446 marks respectively. Out of the 25,434 students from 246 schools that appeared for the exam, 20,425 were declared successful.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma congratulated the students who successfully passed their SSLC and HSSLC (Arts) examinations from MBoSE. He wished for God’s blessings as they embark on the journey of higher studies. He urged the students to stay prepared and motivated for the adventure ahead.

MBoSE conducts the HSLC and SSLC examinations for students of the Meghalaya Board as a part of the education system. The board has been operating since 1973 and is responsible for developing and regulating the educational structure in the state. It aims to provide quality education to the students and works towards the overall development of students. MBoSE is affiliated to the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and also undertakes several research-based projects.
