MCG Seals Illegal Store on Galleria Market Road in Gurgaon
The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has taken action against an unauthorized store on Galleria Market Road. The store, known as ‘Desi Mall’, was found to be in violation of the MCG’s regulations and has been sealed.
According to officials, the MCG had previously sealed illegal buildings in the area and this store was the latest to face the consequences. The joint commissioner issued a demolition order to the offender, citing violations of the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994.
The order stated that the store was involved in unauthorized and illegal commercial activity, which is against the provisions of the act. The offender had received a show cause notice on April 15, directing them to appear before the MCG and cease the unauthorized activities.
However, despite the opportunity to rectify the situation, the shop owner failed to comply with the MCG’s directives. The reply submitted by the offender was deemed unsatisfactory by MCG officials, leading to the sealing of the store.
The MCG had given the offender three days to restore the building following the receipt of the demolition order. However, the shop owner did not take the necessary steps, resulting in the sealing of the store on Wednesday.
While the MCG has taken action against this particular property, residents of the area have raised concerns about the selective nature of the enforcement. They argue that there are other activities operating without the required permissions, including fire department approval, without facing any consequences.
The MCG’s actions against unauthorized properties, such as this store, are aimed at maintaining compliance with the law and ensuring the safety and integrity of the city’s structures.
