Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has called for strict action against a man accused of urinating on another man in Sidhi district, Madhya Pradesh. Mayawati took to Twitter to express her dismay, urging the BJP-led government in Madhya Pradesh to not only invoke the National Security Act (NSA) against the accused, named Pravesh Shukla, but also to confiscate or demolish his property.

The incident, which was captured on video and widely circulated, has sparked outrage. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ordered the imposition of the NSA on the accused, who was subsequently arrested and is now in the Rewa jail.

Mayawati’s demand for stronger action against the accused is accompanied by her call for the BJP government to disassociate themselves from Shukla and to address the issue without any bias. She emphasized that such incidents bring shame to everyone involved.

Congress MLA Kunal Choudhary also criticized the state government, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demand the resignation of Chief Minister Chouhan and Home Minister Narottam Mishra. Choudhary alleged that the BJP leaders and the administration are often involved in protecting criminals who commit atrocities against tribal people. In this case, photographs have emerged of the accused with the state home minister.

In response to the criticism, State Home Minister Narottam Mishra stated that the BJP government has taken swift action against the accused. He reassured the public that strict action has been taken and the accused has been arrested. Chief Minister Chouhan also emphasized that the NSA will be registered against Shukla, and asserted that the law, not any personal agenda, will determine the course of action.

The accused, Pravesh Shukla, has been taken into custody by the police and is currently being interrogated. A case has been registered against him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the SC/ST Act.

The incident has generated widespread condemnation, with Mayawati and others calling for justice and a strong response. The authorities have swiftly acted to arrest the accused and impose the NSA, demonstrating their commitment to addressing the issue. The case will now proceed through the legal system, where appropriate action will be taken against Shukla.

It is crucial for society to unequivocally condemn such acts of violence and humiliation. Initiating legal proceedings and ensuring the accused is held accountable helps to send a message that such behavior will not be tolerated. As this case continues to unfold, it is hoped that justice will be served and that such incidents will not be repeated in the future.
