BSP supremo, Mayawati, recently took a jibe at the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh for the rising heatwave deaths and highlighted the need to improve the electricity supply. She stated that due to the severe power shortage reported across the entire state of Uttar Pradesh, including the capital, Lucknow, people have been plagued by the rising heatwave, leading to news of deaths from Ballia and other districts. Hence, the government should take prompt action to improve the electricity system to prevent the power outages, especially in hospitals.
The increasing death figures of patients due to the rising heat in Uttar Pradesh is related to chest pain, difficulty in breathing, and fever with hospital authorities working to arrive at the cause of death by taking samples and conducting various tests. With around 60 deaths reported in the state during the last four days due to the heatwave, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the Uttar Pradesh government of negligence and further highlighted how the government has yet to build a single district hospital, leading to a lack of proper medical treatment for the deceased.
The rising number of heatwave deaths in the state has prompted the government to investigate the cases and take necessary measures to control the situation promptly. It is essential that the government pays heed to the matter and takes immediate actions to prevent such tragic incidents from happening in the future.
