A man tragically fell to his death while attempting to navigate his way out of a car park after becoming trapped, an inquest has revealed. Craig Hodkinson, 33, fell 50ft into the River Croal in Bolton, Greater Manchester, and his body was discovered four days later. CCTV footage showed Hodkinson trying to find an exit from the car park before climbing a fence at the back. However, he slipped on a narrow ledge and plunged into the river. It was determined that Hodkinson suffered unsurvivable injuries as a result of the fall. Toxicology tests revealed he was heavily intoxicated at the time. A conclusion of accidental death was recorded by the coroner.
