In the latest World Club Rankings released by Football database, Manchester City claims the number one spot, showcasing their dominance in the world of football. Surprisingly, Lionel Messi’s new club, Inter Miami, finds itself farther down the list than expected.
The updated rankings, taking into account matches played up until August 27, 2023, reveal the top-performing clubs globally. Among the 2,875 clubs included in the list, Manchester City emerges as the front-runner with an impressive 2086 points. Bayern Munich closely follows in second place with 1950 points, while Real Madrid secures the third spot with 1942 points.
Aside from the European powerhouses, some noteworthy clubs have made their mark. Victor Osimhen’s Napoli sits comfortably in fourth place with 1,924 points, demonstrating their strength in the sport. Inter Milan closely trails in fifth position, accumulating 1,917 points.
Liverpool, a prominent English club, showcases their prowess at number six with 1,900 points. Right behind them, Arsenal claims the seventh spot with 1,871 points. FC Porto secured the eighth position with 1,869 points, continuing to prove their mettle in the rankings. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid complete the top ten lineup with 1,865 and 1,850 points respectively.
Interestingly, Egypt’s Ahly and Nigeria’s Kano Pillars, both African clubs, have surpassed Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in the Football database rankings. Al-Ahly, the leading African club, stands strong at the 50th position with 1,703 points. Nigeria’s Kano Pillars, on the other hand, secures the 728th spot with 1,390 points, highlighting their presence on the global football stage.
In contrast, Messi’s Inter Miami finds itself at number 1,538 with 1,294 points, significantly lower than many anticipated. The Argentine superstar recently made the move to Miami after his stint with Paris Saint-Germain, signing a contract until the end of the 2025 MLS season.
