Police have renewed their appeal for information following an assault near a village in York that left a man hospitalised with a suspected fractured eye socket. The incident occurred at around 8pm on Friday, January 5, close to the old airfield near Acaster Malbis. Authorities have released a photograph of an individual they wish to identify, believing he may have crucial information regarding the assault. The man in the image is thought to have connections to Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, and Leeds, although he could have traveled anywhere in the UK. North Yorkshire Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward, especially motorists who were traveling along Airfield Lane between 7.45pm and 9pm on that Friday evening. Additionally, officers are particularly interested in speaking with the occupants of a dark-colored hatchback that stopped on Airfield Lane at the time of the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
