A Delhi court has denied bail to a man involved in a fatal road accident that claimed two lives and injured eight people. The accident happened on March 8 on the Vasant Vihar flyover, caused by the man’s recklessness while driving a Mahindra Thar vehicle. The court discovered that the individual, after the collision, continued to drive recklessly while attempting to escape the scene.
The judge, Aparna Swami, stressed the man’s intentional recklessness and described his actions as deliberate. The accused person’s request for bail was denied, and the judge ruled that there couldn’t be any grounds for his release due to the nature and severity of the offense.
The man’s lawyer had applied for the bail request citing several factors, including the individual having been in judicial custody since March. The judge, however, deemed the larger interests of society to be of paramount importance and so refused the bail application.
The charge sheet has already been filed and the investigation concluded, but the judge still found the nature and seriousness of the offense to remain unchanged. The accused person’s deliberate act caused the fatalities and injuries, and now he will face the consequences of his actions.
