A man previously convicted of assaulting passengers on LA’s public transit system was arrested for fatally stabbing a woman on a Metro Red Line subway train in Studio City. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was attacked on her way home from work early Monday. The suspect, identified as Elliot T. Nowden, was apprehended a few blocks away from the subway station. Nowden had a history of transit system attacks, with a prior conviction for assault and a recent misdemeanor arrest for another assault at the same Red Line station. Authorities believe he may be responsible for other unreported attacks on Metro riders and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The murder was captured on Metro’s security cameras, and Nowden is currently in custody on a $2 million bail.
