Man Facing Multiple Charges Including Endangerment, Drink Driving, and False Documents in Cork

A man named Bartlomiej Wojtasiak, aged 38 and residing at The Heron in Jacob’s Island, Mahon, Cork, has been charged with several offenses following an incident that took place on October 16. Detective Sergeant Christopher Cahill brought forth a number of new charges against Wojtasiak, who was previously charged with two counts of dangerous driving. The most significant charge added on Monday is endangerment, which is in relation to an incident on December 6, 2022, at Lower Glanmire Road in Cork. It is alleged that Wojtasiak drove a 2018 registered car recklessly, endangering the lives of others. This charge is in violation of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.

In addition to the charge of endangerment, Wojtasiak was also charged with drink driving, driving without insurance or a license, and possessing a false driving license purporting to be issued by the Czech Republic. The prosecution alleges that he knew the document was false.

Wojtasiak was previously granted bail by the High Court, which required him to deposit €15,000 in cash and an independent surety of €25,000. As part of his bail conditions, he must reside at his address in Jacob’s Island and sign in twice daily at Anglesea Garda Station between 9am and 1pm, as well as between 3pm and 7pm. Furthermore, he is required to surrender all identification and travel documents, provide a mobile number to the police, have no contact with witnesses, remain sober, maintain good behavior, and live peacefully.

The case has been adjourned until November 13, allowing time for the preparation and service of a book of evidence. Solicitor Michael Quinlan represented the accused during the proceedings.

This news presents the latest development in the legal proceedings against Bartlomiej Wojtasiak, who now faces additional charges including endangerment, drink driving, and possession of false documents. The court has set strict bail conditions, reflecting the seriousness of the allegations made against him. The adjournment of the case until November 13 indicates that further investigation and evidence gathering are taking place. The accused will have the opportunity to present their case and defend against the charges brought forward.
