Man Charged in Hit-and-Run Death of 9-Year-Old Boy Seeks Removal of Bail Condition for Work

A man charged with a hit-and-run collision, resulting in the death of a nine-year-old boy, has requested the removal of a bail condition that requires him to sign on at a local Garda station three times a week. Sergee Kelly, who has been charged in connection with the incident in Bundoran, appeared in Ballyshannon District Court seeking permission to return to work. However, Gardai have stated that they will object to the request. Kelly’s solicitor argued for the removal of the condition so that his client can work, emphasizing that Kelly has not been employed since the incident occurred. The court has adjourned the matter until January 25th to allow for further consideration. In the September collision, nine-year-old Ronan Wilson was tragically killed, and Kelly has been charged with three offenses under the Road Traffic Act. The case awaits directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions, as well as a technical report. Kelly is currently on bail under strict conditions, including a prohibition from entering Bundoran and a requirement to stay out of Northern Ireland.
