Tripura’s Udaipur witnessed a tragic incident where a 9-year-old girl was molested by a man named Jahangir Mia. The incident took place on Friday at around 2:30 pm when Jahangir lured the young girl to a secluded area nearby by promising to show her a big rat. However, he then attempted to undress her and started molesting her by holding her tightly. The child screamed for help, which drew local people to the spot. They immediately rescued the girl and handed over the culprit to the police.
Jahangir Mia is a resident of Udaipur town in Tripura’s Gomati district. Following his arrest, a case has been filed against him under Section 45 and IPC 358/8. The accused has been hospitalized and is now in police custody.
The victim’s father, who is a painter by profession, prayed to the police for ensuring that the strictest punishment is given to the molester. He further added that his daughter is terrified and needs justice.
