A young man in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district has been booked for the murder of an 18-year-old girl after he committed suicide. The man, identified as Manjeet Yadav, had approached Archana Varma, who was accompanied by her friend, but was rejected by her. Losing his temper, Yadav shot her in the chest at point-blank range, killing her instantly. Following this, he shot himself in the head and died on the spot.
After Yadav’s death, he was booked for murder under IPC section 302 and Section 25 of the Arms Act following a written complaint by the victim’s brother, Anil Verma. The two bodies were sent for an autopsy.
