Bengaluru Shocker: Man Gropes, Sexually Harasses School Teacher Deboarding Metro Train at Majestic Station, Accused Arrested
Bengaluru witnessed a disturbing incident when a man took advantage of the moving rush and sexually harassed a female teacher as she was deboarding the metro at Majestic station. The accused, identified as 26-year-old Manoj, a TV technician, has been apprehended by the police. According to a report by the Times of India, the incident occurred on Monday, December 25, when the woman was on her way to meet friends in the Whitefield area. In her written complaint, the 24-year-old school teacher described noticing a man who appeared injured and inebriated after boarding the train at around 6:45 pm. The man took the seat where she was standing. As she disembarked at Majestic Station, the accused exploited the bustling environment and groped the woman from behind, subjecting her to sexual harassment. Disturbed by the incident, she promptly alerted the security staff, resulting in the immediate detention of the accused.
The police reviewed the CCTV footage from the train, which clearly showed Manoj standing behind the victim while she was deboarding. Based on the evidence, the police arrested him and presented him before a court. During questioning, Manoj admitted that he had consumed alcohol after work and decided to take the train. His family members informed the police that he is an alcoholic and has previously undergone rehabilitation. Manoj was granted bail on the following day.
