Man Arrested for Abducting and Abusing High School Girl in Palatine
A man has been apprehended by Palatine police in connection with the abduction and sexual abuse of a high school girl. James King, 31, from Arlington Heights, was arrested on Wednesday and is facing charges of child abduction and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
According to officials, the incidents occurred on two separate occasions, October 31st and November 6th, in the northeast area of Palatine. King, who was driving a black Lexus SUV, targeted two victims who were walking alone to school. He approached the girls and enticed them with cash, attempting to coax them into his vehicle. One of the girls unfortunately entered the SUV and was subjected to sexual abuse before King dropped her off at her school.
The Palatine police launched an investigation into the cases, leading to the subsequent arrest of James King. He was taken to the Cook County 3rd District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows for a detention hearing on Thursday.
