A shocking case has emerged in Houston, Texas, where a man named Lee Carter has been charged with aggravated kidnapping after allegedly holding a woman captive in his garage for almost five years. According to court documents obtained by FOX 26 Houston, Carter approached the woman, who was pregnant and panhandling in Almeda Genoa, and gave her a dollar approximately five years ago. He offered her help and drove her to his home on Perry Street in southeast Houston.

Once at his residence, the victim reportedly begged to leave, but Carter drugged her with crack cocaine, rendering her physically unable to escape. She was locked in his garage, where she endured years of sexual assault and further drugging. The horrifying ordeal only came to light when the victim managed to contact the police in April 2023, using Carter’s computer.

Houston police officers responded to the call and made contact with the woman. She revealed that Carter had been holding her captive, sexually assaulting her, and subjecting her to drug abuse since he kidnapped her four to five years ago. The woman did manage to escape once by breaking a window in the garage, but Carter recaptured her and boarded up the window to prevent any future escape attempts.

When authorities finally located the victim last year, she was in an extremely malnourished state, weighing just over 70 pounds. The police also found a dog inside the garage, which they believe Carter used to help keep the victim captive. However, at the time of the recent welfare check, the woman was nowhere to be found.

Carter was arrested and is currently being held in Harris County Jail on a $100,000 bond. It remains unclear how he managed to evade arrest for approximately nine months. Interestingly, sources have revealed that Carter is also a local rapper who goes by the stage name Viper.

This disturbing case highlights the importance of vigilance in our communities and the need for swift action when it comes to addressing crimes against vulnerable individuals. The victim’s resilience and bravery in contacting the authorities ultimately led to her rescue and the apprehension of her captor. The investigation into this harrowing ordeal is still ongoing, and further details may emerge as the case unfolds.
