Man Allegedly Murders Wife with Grinding Stone in Pudukottai, Attempts Suicide

According to police sources, the victim was identified as Nithya Kamakshi, a 24-year-old woman from Mettu Street near Annavasal. She was allegedly killed by her husband, Balraj, over a family dispute using a grinding stone. Following the heinous act, Balraj then turned the deadly weapon on himself in an attempt to take his own life. The tragic incident took place around 1 a.m.
Neighbours who heard the commotion rushed to the house and immediately informed the police. Balraj, who sustained severe injuries, was promptly admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital in Pudukottai, where he is currently receiving medical treatment. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased, Nithya Kamakshi, has been recovered and sent for postmortem examination, as per the officials.
The Annavasal police have registered a case based on the complaint lodged by Kamakshi’s mother, and they are now actively investigating the matter.
