West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee led a prayer for the success of the opposition meeting in Patna ahead of her visit to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s residence. For all things to go in the right direction, she prayed in front of the people and media personnel before her departure from the state guest house.
The meeting was attended by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Maan, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge. AAP MP Raghav Chaddha stated that the meeting was about to begin, while BJP State president Samrat Chaudhary alleged that the opposition leaders assembled in Patna belonged to the Looting India and Breaking India gang and had no impact on the 2024 Lok Sabha poll.
He added that every leader present in Patna was facing corruption charges and highlighted that Rahul Gandhi was involved in tearing the ordinance, while Lalu Prasad was associated with the fodder scam. By organizing the meeting inside the CM’s residence, Nitish Kumar had misused government machinery, he said.
Reports suggest that this meeting is crucial for the opposition parties to discuss the present political scenario and make a plan of action to counter the ruling government in the future. During the meeting, various agendas, including the election of the President and Vice-President, might be on the discussion table.
The CM of West Bengal was seeking cooperation from the opposition leaders against the ruling party’s suppression towards the opposition. Mamata Banerjee had also called for a United Opposition meeting on June 23 regarding the Pegasus issue. The opposition has united to take a solid stand against the misuse of government resources.
With all the opposition leaders present at one place, the content and outcome of this meeting is highly anticipated. The meeting is expected to get contentious, with different opinions, debates and discussions around the current state of the country.
