Mamata offers employment to family of train accident victims

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced government jobs for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in a triple train accident in the Indian state of Odisha’s Balasore. Banerjee stated that her government will also provide cash aid to those who were on board the Coromandel Express and are currently undergoing mental and physical trauma. In addition, relatives of those who lost their limbs in the crash will also be given government jobs. Banerjee cancelled her scheduled trip to Darjeeling to supervise the treatment and rehabilitation of injured passengers from West Bengal who were on board the Coromandel Express that met with the accident. At least 206 people were injured from West Bengal and were admitted to different hospitals in Odisha, with 33 being critical patients in Cuttack hospitals. Rail investigators are looking into possible causes of the crash.
