The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi successfully neutralized a malware attack on their e-Hospital services, according to a statement released by AIIMS. The attack was detected by the institute’s cyber-security systems and was thwarted before any damage could occur. Minister of State for Electronics and Information and Technology Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar took to Twitter to clarify that there was no cyber incident or breach and that the error messages had been rectified. The AIIMS had been under a previous cyber attack last year. The update comes after concerns over potential cyber attacks have increased in India, particularly after the recent Colonial Pipeline incident in the US.
