Opposition party supporters in India have voiced their optimism over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to the United States, according to a recent poll conducted by CVoter. The poll revealed that 55% of opposition voters believed Modi’s visit would convince American multinationals to shift production and factories from China to India, while two-thirds of respondents across all political affiliations believed the visit would lead to factories and supply chains shifting from China to India. Additionally, close to 48% of respondents deemed Tesla founder Elon Musk’s praise of Modi during the visit as genuine. The state visit, which takes place from June 21-24, will involve formal bilateral talks with President Joe Biden and other engagements.
