The Mai Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune recently held the inauguration of its upgraded Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Sunday, June 25th, 2023. This marks a significant milestone in improving critical care services and facilities at the hospital. The event saw the presence of distinguished guests including Muskan Jain (Assistant VP CSR Global) and Yusuf Bhavnagarwala (Senior Assistant VP – Insurance) from EXL, Raji Nair (Senior Assistant VP Facilities & Logistic and Travel – Global), Krishan Bhatt (Executive Director at Spherule Foundation) & Seshu Kavalipurapu (Volunteer at CPR Group). The event highlighted the collective commitment towards enhancing critical care facilities and improving healthcare outcomes.
EXL played a crucial role in funding and supporting the ICU unit’s current upgrade as a part of its corporate social responsibility initiative. The unit has undergone significant expansion, increasing its capacity to accommodate 23 beds, making it possible to serve a broader range of critically ill patients. This expansion addresses the pressing need for accessible and high-quality critical care services. The ICU unit is expected to reach full operational capacity in two to three months, further enhancing the hospital’s capability.
As part of this transformative initiative, Spherule Foundation and volunteers from EXL conducted several impactful awareness sessions around Pune. Community members received education on key topics, including road traffic accidents, mental health and stress management, and breaking menstruation taboo. Equipping people with knowledge and preventive measures is expected to minimize the occurrence of ailments that necessitate critical care, fostering a proactive approach to healthcare.
Spherule Foundation worked as an implementation partner while the CPR Group served as a supporting partner for the project.
