Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, has denied that an advertisement claiming to show the findings of a survey about his popularity was issued by the state government. The ad reportedly suggested that people prefer him as the Chief Minister and his deputy, Devendra Fadnavis, as his second in charge. Speaking to reporters in Kolhapur after addressing a government-at-your-doorstep programme, Shinde dismissed reports of differences with Fadnavis, describing their working relationship as smooth and efficient. He expressed confidence that they would continue to work together and added that he was receiving support from Modi’s administration.
