Shrikant Shinde, son of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Lok Sabha MP of Kalyan, downplayed the recent advertisement row between the Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The two parties, who are ruling allies, were in disagreement after a Shiv Sena-issued advertisement claimed that Shinde was more popular than his deputy and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis. Shinde-Fadnavis jodi was unbreakable and people shouldn’t fall for such propaganda, Shrikant said. The advertisement was the work of an over-enthusiastic party worker, according to the CM. Shrikant also attributed the opposition parties’ attempts to defame the current government since the state has shown improvement since the party came to power in June 2019.
