French club Lyon have reportedly expressed interest in signing Christian Pulisic from Chelsea. The Blues are reportedly looking to offload several players this summer, including Kai Havertz, Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Mason Mount. In addition, N’Golo Kante has already left Stamford Bridge to join Saudi Super League club Al-Ittihad on a free transfer. According to L’Equipe, Lyon has plans to make a move for the winger, and the club is the main club currently discussing the player with Chelsea. However, owing to the fact that Eagle Football Holdings, the controlling shareholder of Lyon, also owns 45% of Crystal Palace shares, Pulisic might end up at Selhurst Park.
Pulisic, who cost Chelsea £58 million when he joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, has fallen down the pecking order over time and only made 30 appearances in all competitions last season. The 24-year-old is reportedly open to leaving Stamford Bridge and is a sought-after player this summer. Crystal Palace is said to have put Pirlo high at the priority list for new signings.
Pulisic held talks with Lyon officials at the end of last season and seems interested in a move away from Chelsea. With Chelsea looking to offload several first-team players, the club has already started its summer business plan. Placing Eagle Football Holdings as a complicating factor in this transfer saga.
