The Lower Parel (Delisle Road) bridge in Mumbai has partially opened, bringing significant relief to citizens. The western side of the bridge is now accessible, with the eastern part nearing completion and expected to be fully operational by the end of July 2023. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s Commissioner and Administrator, Shri Iqbal Singh Chahal, along with other officials, have been actively managing the project to ensure timely relief before the monsoon season. A lane on Ganpatrao Kadam Marg has also been opened for traffic, with safety measures in place for pedestrians, including a footpath and stairs/escalators. The reconstruction involves the use of two new open web girders in the railway sector and wider side service lanes, and the construction is currently at 87% completion with the remaining work expected to finish by the end of July 2023.
