After several reports of issues at Henderson Mechanic Duaine’s Automotive, a local shop in Southern Nevada has stepped forward to help those affected. Duaine’s Automotive has been under scrutiny for over a year, with customers claiming that the shop refused to return their cars for months and returned them in an undrivable condition. The DMV Compliance Enforcement Division took action in January 2023, revoking the garage license and returning five cars to their rightful owners. However, just last month, another customer reported a similar experience with their Jeep. In response to these incidents, Scott Weiner, Service Manager of Master Tech Automotive, and his father have offered assistance to anyone affected by Duaine’s Automotive. They will only charge the cost of parts, waiving the labor fees. However, customers must provide proof of issues and expenses incurred at Duaine’s Automotive or its current operating name, Carb’s Automotive. The gesture is aimed at helping the community recover from what has been described as an absolute nightmare. Weiner also highlighted that reputable mechanics should not request upfront deposits but rather payments upon completion of repairs. This initiative by Master Tech Automotive aims to support those affected and provide relief during a challenging time.
