Pooja Kumari, a 24-year-old woman from Ranhola, has been arrested in New Delhi, India, for the alleged murder of an 11-year-old boy. The victim, Divyansh, was the son of Kumari’s live-in partner, Jitender. According to the police, Kumari killed the child on August 10, as she held him responsible for his father’s refusal to divorce his wife.
Tragically, Divyansh was found dead inside a bed box with strangulation marks on his neck. The police were alerted when his body was brought to BLK Hospital. Through their investigation, they discovered footage from a CCTV camera that showed Kumari as the last person to have visited the boy’s house. As a result, the police checked over 300 CCTV camera recordings, leading to Kumari’s arrest.
Further details revealed that Kumari had married Jitender in October 2019 at the Arya Samaj Mandir. Jitender, who was already married and had a son, promised Kumari that they would marry legally after he divorced his wife. They started living together in a rented house but eventually quarreled over the divorce. Jitender ultimately moved back in with his wife, causing Kumari to become furious and assume his son was the reason he left her.
On the day of the incident, Kumari sought out a friend to accompany her to Jitender’s house. They found the door open, and Divyansh was sleeping. Taking this opportunity, Kumari strangled the boy. She then placed his body inside the bed box, removed the bedding, and locked the door before fleeing the scene.
The motive behind the murder appears to be Kumari’s revenge on Jitender for his refusal to be in a relationship with her. The police have registered a case under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which refers to murder.
This tragic incident highlights the importance of addressing domestic disputes and the potential consequences they can have on innocent lives. The authorities are committed to thoroughly investigating the case and holding Kumari accountable for her alleged actions.
The loss of young Divyansh has left his family devastated and the community in shock. It serves as a reminder of the need for increased awareness and support for victims of domestic disputes to prevent such tragic events from occurring in the future.
