The Central University of Kashmir is set to undergo academic and administrative reforms with a target to launch within the next 100 days, with a specific focus on infrastructure development. The university will adopt best practices from leading institutions in the world and country to launch innovative reforms within the framework of the National Education Policy-2020. The action plan includes a primary emphasis on infrastructure creation through a well-designed master plan using green technologies, with a provision for future academic and research activities. The university has proposed three iconic buildings, inclusive of a Skill Development Centre, Knowledge Resources Centre, and Student Activities Centre, to support its students and those from other institutions.
Recently, a 3-week yoga camp was initiated at Tulmulla campus of the university. Its aim is to raise awareness about yoga and train yoga trainers for the 9th international yoga day to be celebrated on June 21st, 2023. Participating students will learn various yoga-related activities and the importance of its practice in modern society, particularly in relieving stress. On the occasion of the opening ceremony, Dr. Mohammad Muqarram, an Assistant Professor from the Department of Physical Education, conducted a demonstration of sitting and standing Asanas to train the participants.
This initiative is a promising step to expanding student experience and development at the Central University of Kashmir with potential benefits to the wider community. The University continues to prioritize the quality and excellence of higher education through academic and administrative reforms and innovative initiatives.
