Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for criticizing India during his recent foreign visit and urged him to learn from his ancestors who upheld the nation’s dignity. Speaking at a rally in Gujarat’s Patan district, Shah accused Gandhi of regularly speaking against India even though the country was witnessing significant changes. Shah expressed his disappointment with Gandhi’s apparent opposition to the new Parliament building and the installation of ‘Sengol’ inside it. Gandhi’s recent visit to the US was also criticized, where he reportedly slammed the Modi government’s policies during his visit and called India a Hindu Rashtra. Shah characterized Gandhi’s comments as unfortunate and asked him to be more mindful when speaking about India abroad. He continued to criticize Congress leaders for obstructing PM Modi‘s speech in Parliament and their constant opposition. Shah lauded the Prime Minister for initiating a novel tradition of politics of development and highlighted Modi’s administration’s efforts to enhance the lives of Dalits, underprivileged, and tribals. He drew a sharp contrast between Modi’s term and the previous ten-year term of former PM Manmohan Singh and former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, which he claimed was marked by corruption, economic downturn, terrorism, and poor law and order. Shah urged the people of Gujarat to support the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and ensure the party’s victory in all 26 parliamentary seats in the state.
