Former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan Questions Inaugurator of Indian Parliament

Former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan recently jokingly questioned the ongoing debate on who would inaugurate the new Parliament building, commenting that it is not written anywhere. While reacting to the comment of Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh about the supposed violation of article 79, Mahajan requested the political parties to keep the inauguration of such an important event, which symbolizes the temple of democracy, above partisan politics.

Rajya Sabha Member Digvijaya Singh had earlier expressed his views that not inaugurating Parliament by the President is a violation of Article 79 of India’s Constitution. After hearing his remark, Mahajan argued that if there were any violations of the article, then the Supreme Court would intervene. She further requested not to raise questions, since the Prime Minister, who is going to inaugurate Parliament, is also a Member of Parliament and its leader.

For the event, Mahajan has been called and will join other dignitaries in Delhi on Saturday evening. As per her, having a bigger agenda in place, the construction of a new Parliament building was necessary. She stressed the need to keep politics aside and celebrate such a significant event as one.

Supporting her views, several political parties including Trinamool Congress (TMC), Aam Aam Admi Party (AAP), and Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) have decided to stay away from the inauguration.

On December 10, 2020 Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament Building. Built in a record time, and with the highest quality of construction, the Parliament building will be made available for the Nation on 28th May, 2021 when Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will dedicate it to the Nation.

Four Family Members Killed in Car Accident in Uttar Pradesh

On Saturday morning, four members of a family were killed in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh after their motorcycle was hit by a car. According to Extra Superintendent of Police (East) Vidyasagar Mishra, Manoj Singh aged 39 and his 8-year-old son Shivam, who were riding the two-wheeler, succumbed to their injuries when they were taken to the medical college for treatment. Two others, Seema, Manoj’s 34-year-old wife, and their 10-year-old daughter Sapna, were seriously injured in the crash, and later referred to SRN Hospital located in Prayagraj but passed away thereafter. The car driver has been taken into custody by the police and the incident is currently being investigated.

The mention of BJP, in the given article, has given hints of political play in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections that would potentially use the issue of Ram Mandir as a vote magnet. BJP may consider building a Ram Mandir as its grandest legacy while being in power. According to sources, the saffron party is planning to use the issue of Ram Mandir to get ahead in the polls.

The mention of the government in the given article suggests a negative story regarding an infant’s death due to contaminated water in the Raichur district of Karnataka. The state government was taken to task, given the fact that a Panchayat Development Officer was suspended for negligence of duty in such a critical and sensitive matter. Making such an incident the subject of negotiations between two opposing parties in the assembly can potentially open new avenues of discussion on how the government can better administrate the state.

Finally, the article describes how four family members were tragically killed after their motorcycle was hit by a car. One should take care while travelling as such incidents can have devastating consequences on our loved ones. By understanding and following basic traffic rules and regulations, such tragedies can be prevented. Likewise, obeying the speed limit and keeping an eye out for speed breakers and other obstacles can save lives from such car recklessness. People must take precautions before they travel on the roads.

It is evident that extra measures must be taken by the government in order to ensure the safety of citizens travelling on the road, and harsh punishments should be imposed for those who are found guilty of reckless driving.

Demanding an Apology from Congress: Grandson of C Rajagopalachari on Sengol Controversy

As the row between the Sengol and the new Parliament building in India rages on, BJP leader and great-grandson of former Union Home Minister C Rajagopalachari , CR Kesavan, has demanded an apology from the Congress party for questioning the history of the sceptre.

The Sengol is considered to be a symbol of the transfer of British power to India and Kesavan believes that the truth is prevailing and will be reflected in the Prime Minister’s installation of the Sengol in the temple of democracy. He asserts that false narratives about the sceptre were circulated in order to diminish its importance.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had said that there was “no documented evidence whatsoever of Mountbatten, Rajaji and Nehru describing this sceptre as a symbol of the transfer of British power to India” and he had further claimed that all such claims to this effect were “BOGUS”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to establish the Sengol as a national symbol of Amrit Kaal, and it will be presented to him by the 293rd head priest of Madurai Aadheenam during the inauguration of the new Parliament Building. The Home Minister, Amit Shah, highlighted the importance of the sceptre by saying that the Parliament House was the most appropriate and sacred place to install it.

CR Kesavan believes that the Congress party should apologize for their comments and acknowledges the importance of the Sengol in Indian history.

C Rajagopalachari was a freedom fighter, former Union Home Minister, and Chief Minister of Madras. He was the founder of the Swatantra Party and is considered to be a distinguished leader of the Indian independence movement. During his time, Rajagopalachari was an advocate for socio-religious progressive thought and reform. He was the first Indian Governor-General of independent India.

CR Kesavan is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and a great-grandson of C Rajagopalachari. He has been a BJP leader and has now demanded an apology from the Congress party for questioning the history of the Sengol. He believes that truth is prevailing and will be further reflected in the Prime Minister’s installation of the Sengol in the temple of democracy.

Conflict Between Kerala’s Ruling Parties Over Relocation of Problem Tusker “Arikomban”

Two allies in the ruling Left front in Kerala have been having a heated exchange of words after the relocation of a rogue wild tusker, Arikomban, from Chinnakanal in Idukki to the Periyar Tiger Reserve near the Tamil Nadu border on Saturday morning. This has caused distress as the tusker has been seen terrorizing the residents of the Cumbum town in Tamil Nadu, close to the popular wildlife sanctuary and tourist destination, Thekkady.

Kerala Congress (M) leader and Member of the Rajya Sabha, Jose K. Mani criticized the relocation of Arikomban saying it was a failed operation and the Wildlife Laws needed to be revised. He further explained that their strongholds, primarily in Kottayam, Pathanamthitta and Kozhikode districts have come under severe attacks from tigers, elephants and wild gaurs causing loss of lives and damage of crops.

In response, the State Forest and Wildlife Minister A.K. Saseendran of the NCP defended the relocation operation, saying that they were not attempting to drive the elephant away, and that their officials had been in touch with those in Tamil Nadu for regular updates.

Unfortunately, soon after the word exchange on Arikomban, news broke out of a tiger roaming around wreaking havoc in Pathanamthitta district. Local legislator Pramod Narayan, also from the Kerala Congress (M), questioned the Forest department and said that the wild animal should be shot if it threatened the humans. In a similar incident, Kozhikode witnessed a gaur attacking and injuring a rubber tapper. The victim is recovering in a hospital.

The government needs to look into more stringent rules and regulations regarding wild animals to ensure that human safety and interests are taken into account. It is also essential to consider the welfare of these animals and ensure that they are relocated in a safe and secure place.
