Bus Accident in Indonesia Falsely Claimed: A Reality Check

A viral video of a bus going off a deep ditch has been shared with the false claim that the accident happened in Meghalaya, India. However, Vishvas News investigated the video and found the claim to be misleading. During the investigation, the news was found to be from a bus accident in the Central Java province of Indonesia on May 7. Vishvas News contacted the Indonesian fact-checking agency CEK Facta.com and fact checker Adi Syafitra confirmed that the video was from a recent accident in Indonesia.

Accused of RPSC Paper Leak Promoted in Rajasthan

A suspended government school vice principal in Udaipur Jail has reportedly been promoted to principal level, according to the office BJP MP Kirodilal Meena. The accused is connected with a paper leak from the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) teacher recruitment exam. The Rajasthan police previously released a reward of Rs 1 lakh for information leading to his arrest, which was successful.

The Rajasthan Education Department hasn’t officially commented on the promotion, however, the MP has been actively protesting the paper leak and providing vital information to the state government about Anil Kumar Meena.

The Patna district magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh has instructed the officers in charge to focus on gender-based violence and provide help to those suffering. The DM has ordered ICDS officers to hold meetings with women working at different places and organize thematic programs to spread awareness.

West Bengal State Higher Education Board Exam Dates for 2024 Revealed – Check Timetable Here

The West Bengal Council of Higher Education (WBSHE) has declared the examination dates for the higher secondary examination in 2024. According to the announcement, the WB 12th exams are scheduled to commence from February 16th to February 29th. All the examinations for this year will take place in a single shift, starting at 12 noon and concluding at 3:15 pm. Students appearing for health and physical education, visual arts, music, and vocational subjects have a duration of 2 hours to complete their respective examinations; whereas other subjects will have 3 hours and 15 minutes.

WBSHE is responsible for devising the state-level curriculum and organizing examinations for the students of post-secondary and higher secondary education in West Bengal. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), various colleges, universities, and vocational examination centers come under its purview. PMLA Court Summons Former Punjab SSP and Others in Disproportionate Assets Case – Latest India News

A special PMLA court in SAS Nagar, Punjab has issued summons to Surjit Singh Grewal, a retired Punjab Police Superintendent, and other accused for appearing before it on 28th July in an ongoing asset misuse case. The case has been lodged under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA).

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) accuses Grewal of using his power as a public servant to acquire assets which are disproportionately higher than his legitimate source of income. ED is further investigating gains made from his misconduct in office. As per the FIR filed by Vigilance Bureau, Patiala, Surjit Singh Grewal has been charged for misusing the powers of his post and accumulating movable and immovable properties in his name and in the name of his family members and associates.

The allegation has so far resulted in a financial loss of Rs 4.7 crore, whereby ED has already attached the property of the accused. The attachment of the assets has been given a formal approval by the Adjudicating Authority.

The person in question, Surjit Singh Grewal, is a retired policeman, stationed in Punjab. He has worked in the police force for several years, achieving the rank of Superintendent of Police before retiring. He is now facing legal proceedings on money laundering and corruption charges.

Effective Police Complaint or FIR Writing Tips from Advocate Anees

At a workshop organised by SEUMP (Socio-Economic Upliftment of Marginalised People) Educational Welfare and Charitable Trust, Justice Advocate Anees taught the basics of writing an effective and successful police complaint or FIR. The workshop was aimed at providing legal awareness to all kinds of people, from professionals and housewives to retired people. It was an interactive session that allowed participants to write their own complaint and then have the experienced advocate explain the do’s and don’ts associated with it.

Anees explained the importance of ensuring a complaint is precise and informative. It should be directed to the Station House Officer or Inspector of Police. He provided details of the difference between a crime and offense, cognizable and non-cognizable offences, and Sections 320 and 154 of IPC. It was also highlighted to the attendees that it is important to not let emotions overpower facts in a complaint.

The highlight of the workshop was the Q&A session where questions were asked about reporting domestic abuse and communal riots, and what to do if a complaint is not taken seriously by the police. Anees also answered queries about the legal system and what mistakes families often make when a loved one has been arrested.

The SEUMP Educational Welfare and Charitable Trust is dedicated to helping people understand their rights and relevant laws, allowing them to protect themselves and their families. This was the first of a series of legal awareness workshops, with the Trust also looking to introduce alternative dispute resolution to help people resolve their disputes without long court proceedings. The Khelo India University Games (KIUG) ended with Bharti Vidyapeeth and KIIT emerging as the victors of the Men and Women Rugby competitions respectively. Played from the 24th to 26th of May 2023 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, the tournaments featured Indian university players who had previously shown signs of talent in the sport.

In the Women’s category, KIIT schooled Mumbai University with a scoreline of 56-0. The Men’s category pitted KIIT against Bharti Vidyapeeth, with Bharti Vidyapeeth clinching the victory at 19-10. This entire event was made possible with the support of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Sports Authority of India, and Rugby India.
