A municipal school sports coach in Mumbai has been sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment by a special POCSO court for sexually assaulting minor girls during training sessions and on a trip. The coach, who taught the traditional sport lagori, had selected 15 girls from a BMC school to play the game. He used to call the girls for practice between 9 am and 12.30 pm on Sundays at Mumbai’s Lalbaug area. The convict touched the girls inappropriately on various occasions during tournaments and training sessions. In July 2016, while teaching wrestling, he touched one of the girls inappropriately. In another incident, while the girls were playing in a water pool, he asked them to come out but made them stand while he talked to them while staring at them. On their return, one of the girls narrated the incident to her parents, and they lodged a police complaint.

ED Claims Chariot Media Paid for AAP Survey in Goa

According to a source involved in the investigation of the Delhi Excise Policy case, a private company, Chariot Productions Media Private Limited, allegedly made payments to people and vendors who were working for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Goa. The source claimed that the payments made by Chariot Media were presented as fees for their services, but an investigation has shown that the people and vendors receiving the money were actually working for the AAP. The investigation found that Chariot Media paid Manaswani Prabhune a monthly salary of Rs 1.5 lakh and give Swami Samarth Eco Products Rs 5 lakh based on fake invoices. However, the two companies did not actually provide any services to Chariot Media. Instead, they were conducting ground-level surveys for AAP in Goa with Vijay Nair as their supervisor. It was discovered that Chariot Media made covert payments on behalf of AAP by creating false claims for payment for their own work. Chariot Media allegedly paid Grace Advertising Private Limited and Spark Entertainment Private Limited Rs 6.59 lakh and Rs 4 lakh, respectively. Both companies put up advertising hoardings for AAP, and the payments were made via cheques.
