Government Transfers Nine Officers of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS)

In a move that aims to improve the administration of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, nine Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers have been transferred to different roles. The General Administration Department, in an order issued by Amit Vermani, Additional Secretary to the Government, announced the changes on Wednesday. The transfers include the appointment of Vikas Dhar Bagati, JKAS, as Personnel Officer in the Directorate of School Education, Jammu, whilst Umesh Sharma, JKAS, will become Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Bhawan, Katra, taking over from Sudhir Bali, JKAS. Sunaina Saini, JKAS, will become Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Ghagwal, and Seema Parihar, JKAS, will become Sub-Divisional Magistrate, R.S. Pura. Shafiq Ahmad, JKAS, will become Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Thanamandi. Finally, Tariq Ahmad Malik, JKAS, will become Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Khansahib, whilst Nagesh Singh, JKAS, has been posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Jammu (North), against an available vacancy.

Narottam Mishra orders investigation into headscarf dispute at Damoh school in Madhya Pradesh

The headscarf row in a private school in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh has attracted controversy. Home Minister Narottam Mishra has set up an inquiry into the issue, after a poster containing pictures of some girl students wearing scarves around their heads went viral on social media. Some Hindu outfits have claimed that the scarves worn by the students resemble the hijab worn by Muslim women. They have further alleged that the Ganga Jamuna Higher Secondary School is involved in religious conversion. Collector of Damoh Mayank Agarwal probed the case and said there had been no indication of any religious conversion, but Hindu outfits have demanded the cancellation of the school’s recognition. The school management has stated that every girl student can wear the headscarf if they wish to. An inquiry team will report to the Home Minister.

Jammu and Kashmir Approved for 12 Additional DNB Seats

Jammu and Kashmir has been approved for 12 additional DNB seats by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Science. The move is aimed at improving public healthcare in the state, and the new seats will be added to the 270 DNB seats that have already been granted. The health department of Madhya Pradesh has issued show-cause notices to two employees in connection with the distribution of condoms and contraceptive pills in make-up boxes during a mass marriage ceremony in Thandla. Bhopal: Transfers and Additional Responsibilities for 10 IAS Officers
