In a move that aims to improve the administration of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, nine Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers have been transferred to different roles. The General Administration Department, in an order issued by Amit Vermani, Additional Secretary to the Government, announced the changes on Wednesday. The transfers include the appointment of Vikas Dhar Bagati, JKAS, as Personnel Officer in the Directorate of School Education, Jammu, whilst Umesh Sharma, JKAS, will become Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Bhawan, Katra, taking over from Sudhir Bali, JKAS. Sunaina Saini, JKAS, will become Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Ghagwal, and Seema Parihar, JKAS, will become Sub-Divisional Magistrate, R.S. Pura. Shafiq Ahmad, JKAS, will become Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Thanamandi. Finally, Tariq Ahmad Malik, JKAS, will become Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Khansahib, whilst Nagesh Singh, JKAS, has been posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Jammu (North), against an available vacancy.
Jammu and Kashmir Approved for 12 Additional DNB Seats
Jammu and Kashmir has been approved for 12 additional DNB seats by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Science. The move is aimed at improving public healthcare in the state, and the new seats will be added to the 270 DNB seats that have already been granted. The approved seats are for various departments, including two for Orthopedics at Srinagar Hospital, two for Paediatrics at GMC Rajouri, two for Surgery at DH Poonch, two for General Medicine at DH Reasi, and four seats for the Department of Anesthesiology at GMC Baramulla. The initiative has been praised for its implementation of DNB courses at the district level, which is considered a best practice in the country. The program aims to address the shortage of specialists in Jammu and Kashmir and decongest government medical colleges. It will also lead to an equitable distribution of healthcare services in hard-to-reach areas, leading to low referrals from DNB institutions to tertiary care institutions.
Bhopal: Transfers and Additional Responsibilities for 10 IAS Officers
In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, the state government has made changes to the civil services by transferring six IAS officers while giving additional responsibilities to ten bureaucrats. John Kingsly AR, who was the commissioner of medical education department, was moved to become the secretary of water resources and Narmada valley department due to poor relations with medical education minister Viswas Sarang. Meanwhile, Gopal Chandra Dad, previously commissioner of medical education, was given the additional charge of the OBC Welfare Department. Other changes include the appointment of P Narhari as secretary of the sports and youth welfare department and Rakesh Shrivastava as director of Bhopal Gas Tragedy. The reshuffle also impacted positions such as chief executive officer of good governance school and deputy secretaries in Yojna, finance and statistics, labour, and public assets management departments. The state government aims to improve civil services through these changes.
