Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena has approved the transfer of 1.11 acre of land to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) for the construction of a six-lane highway from DND Maharani Bagh to a junction on Jaitpur-Pusta Road. The project, part of the Bharatmala Pariyojna and aimed at easing traffic between Delhi and nearby cities, will connect major highways such as the Delhi-Noida Direct Flyway and Delhi Mumbai Expressway. As part of the approval, the NHAI will use inert and C&D waste generated in Delhi for construction and pay for the land. The project will feature a cross-elevated metro railway line and vertical gardens along the stretch.
