Describing the inspiration behind Moon at Noon, Lazlo revealed that the lyrics were written during a period of emotional turmoil after his father suffered a major heart attack in 2018. The song came to fruition as a source of solace during that difficult time. Lazlo recorded the demo for the track in his studio about a week after his dad returned home from the hospital, capturing the raw emotions and vulnerability that the song encapsulates. The track is an evocative blend of introspective lyrics and melodic hooks, showcasing the band’s unique punk and power-pop sound.

Moon at Noon also features a notable guest appearance by Mike Williamson from L.A.-based band Jr. Juggernaut, who contributes a captivating guitar solo to the track. The collaborative effort adds another layer of depth to For Closure’s dynamic sound.

For Closure initially started as a studio project, serving as an opportunity for longtime punk rock veterans from the Los Angeles County suburbs to explore their love for music before bidding farewell to their previous bands. However, the project gained momentum and transformed into something more than just a goodbye gesture. Lazlo and co-songwriter Luis Estefania, who have previously worked together in acclaimed acts such as F.Y.P, Rhythm Collision, and Buford, realized they had stumbled upon a goldmine of exceptional compositions.

With their refined songwriting skills, Lazlo and Estefania ventured into Studio in Redlands, California alongside producer and drummer Wal Rashidi to record their debut single, Carousel. The success of the recording session led to the decision to continue working on a full-length album, which is set for release in 2024.

Transitioning from the studio to the stage, For Closure made their live debut in the fall, performing shows in the Los Angeles area. Joining Lazlo on stage are guitarist Marc Maxey and bassist Steve Wilenkin, both accomplished musicians in their own right.

For Closure’s journey from a farewell project to a promising musical collective has only just begun. Their fusion of punk and power-pop, coupled with their genuine and relatable songwriting, promises an exciting future for the band and leaves listeners eagerly anticipating their upcoming album.

Press play on Moon at Noon and experience For Closure’s sonic prowess as they make their mark in the punk and power-pop scene.
