Kuwait Issues Guidelines for Safe Hajj Pilgrimage in 2023

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health has released a set of comprehensive guidelines for pilgrims preparing for the Hajj season of 2023 (1444 AH). These guidelines are aimed at ensuring the health and safety of pilgrims participating in this sacred journey.

All pilgrims going on Hajj must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meningitis, bacterial pneumonia, and seasonal influenza at least 10 days before they embark on their pilgrimage. It is mandatory for all pilgrims to carry their vaccination certificates with them throughout their trip.

Pilgrims who suffer from chronic diseases such as diabetes or heart disease are encouraged to consult their doctors before traveling. They should ensure an adequate supply of all required medications, together with detailed and up-to-date reports of their health status, including information regarding their health problems and prescribed doses.

To prevent respiratory infections, the ministry recommends that pilgrims wear face masks and use tissues while coughing or sneezing. It also emphasizes the importance of frequently washing hands with soap, water, and disinfectants throughout the entire spiritual journey. Pilgrims must avoid touching their eyes, mouths, or noses with their hands. They must also avoid contact with individuals displaying symptoms of illness.

Pilgrims are encouraged to stay hydrated by drinking large quantities of water, liquids, and juices. They should also incorporate water-rich foods like fruits and vegetables into their diet. Pilgrims must also avoid direct exposure to the sun, heat, and crowded areas.

Lastly, the ministry advises all pilgrims to strictly adhere to the precautionary measures and instructions given by Saudi authorities. It stresses that compliance with these guidelines is vital in preserving the health and safety of all pilgrims during the Hajj season.

In conclusion, with the right precautions taken by individuals, the Hajj pilgrimage can be pursued safely. All pilgrims traveling to participate in the 2023 Hajj season should take note of the guidelines issued by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health to ensure their own health and the safety of others around them.
