Kukshi Stone-Pelting Incident: 7 Arrested, Resentment Grows

Kukshi town in Madhya Pradesh witnessed a complete shutdown for the third consecutive day on Monday after certain sections of society called for a bandh. The bandh aimed to protest against a stone-pelting incident during the Anant Chaturdashi procession. Seven miscreants have been apprehended by the police, but resentment continues to grow among the local community.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Manoj Kumar Singh, took swift action by instructing SDOP Sunil Gupta and Police Station In-Charge Rajesh Yadav to ensure a prompt investigation against those responsible for the disturbance. Two individuals, namely Faizal Qureshi and Rihan Qureshi, were captured based on video evidence and presented before the court on Sunday. The court ordered both accused to be sent to jail.

In a further development, five additional suspects, Faheem Khan, Azam Mansoori, Talib Mansoori, Sohail Rangrez, and Sarfaraz Khan, were apprehended by the police on Monday. These arrests were made based on information obtained from sources and video footage.

The incident has caused significant upheaval in the community, leading to the closure of various businesses for three consecutive days. The locals are demanding strict action against those attempting to disrupt communal harmony in the region. Police officials have assured the public that all remaining suspects will soon be apprehended, and those involved in spreading rumors on social media platforms to disturb peace will face the consequences. To maintain law and order, Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code has been imposed in the town.

This incident has saddened the community as they value their peace and harmony. As the investigations progress, it is essential for the authorities to ensure a fair and impartial process, reflecting the sentiments of all stakeholders involved. Building trust within the community will be crucial to prevent such incidents in the future and to foster a sense of security among the residents of Kukshi.
