Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao has hit back at BJP national president J. P. Nadda for his recent remark about sending Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to jail if BJP comes to power in the state.
During a public meeting, K. T. Rama Rao said that Nadda’s statement reflects BJP’s style of politics and shows how they are interested in playing dirty politics instead of focussing on development. He accused the BJP of making outrageous remarks to gain attention from the public, which is not expected from a national party.
K. T. Rama Rao also highlighted the development initiatives taken by the Telangana government, including the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation project, Rythu Bandhu scheme, and Mission Kakatiya for revival of water bodies. He stated that such initiatives were taken to benefit the people of Telangana and not to gain political mileage.
The BJP leader’s remark about sending KCR to jail comes ahead of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections scheduled to be held later this year. The BJP has been trying to make inroads into Telangana, which is currently ruled by the TRS.
Meanwhile, K. T. Rama Rao has been actively campaigning for the GHMC elections and has been addressing public gatherings across the city. The BJP and TRS are engaged in a heated political battle ahead of the polls.
It remains to be seen how voters respond to such political mudslinging tactics and whether the parties can focus on their development agenda to win the trust of the people.
