The Konyak Union Myanmar (KUM) has expressed its admiration for the General Headquarters (GHQ) and Council Headquarters (CHQ) within the Yung Aung-led NSCN(K) for listening to public appeal for peace and restrain. There have been recent gunfights within the same group, causing fear for the innocent people. The KUM has urged the groups to maintain peace. The KUM reminded the past leaders who worked for Naga sovereignty and not any particular region, and Naga leaders should not forget public service. They added that as the birthplace of Naga national leaders, they have no communication, education, or facilities in the area. The KUM requested national workers to stay in designated places and not with the public or in the village to avoid causing tension to the innocent civilians. Their “ammunition” should not be used for fighting among the Nagas or firing in the village.
