A kidnapping suspect was apprehended by authorities in Alvin, Texas, after his victim managed to escape from his home, as reported by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred early Friday when a woman at a convenience store in La Marque accepted a ride to her hotel. The suspect, identified as Patrick Kent Baugh, intentionally drove past the hotel and locked the car doors, preventing her from leaving. When she attempted to exit the vehicle, Baugh allegedly assaulted her. He later took her to his residence in Alvin, located along Williams Lane.
Fortunately, the victim was able to find an opportunity to escape from the suspect’s home and promptly called for help. Baugh, who was considered armed and dangerous due to his history of violence and sexual misconduct, became the subject of a widespread search. Authorities shared a photo of him along with the description of the vehicle he was last seen driving on social media, urging the public not to approach him.
In an update later that evening, law enforcement announced that Baugh had been apprehended, although the specific location was not disclosed. He now faces charges of aggravated kidnapping.
