The ongoing divorce battle between actor Kevin Costner and his ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, continues to intensify as new details emerge from their legal proceedings. According to inside sources, the entire dispute seems to revolve around Baumgartner’s demands and claims.

One significant point of contention in the divorce case is the Santa Barbara home that the couple shared. Under their prenuptial agreement, Baumgartner was supposed to vacate the property within 30 days of filing for divorce. However, she has refused to leave, prompting Costner’s lawyers to accuse her of making baseless arguments in an attempt to retain possession of the house. They have respectfully requested that she move out by July 13.

In addition to the property dispute, financial matters are also a key focus of the divorce proceedings. Costner claims to have already paid the $1 million stipulated in their prenuptial agreement, but Baumgartner is reportedly seeking more money. In response, Costner’s lawyers have filed a reply memorandum stating that Baumgartner’s legal basis for requesting additional funds is nonexistent.

Baumgartner’s lawyer argues that she has the right to remain in the Santa Barbara home until a child support agreement is reached for their three teenage children. She has proposed a deadline of August 31 for her departure, conditional upon the court’s decision regarding child support. Overall, the divorce is becoming increasingly costly for both parties involved.

Insiders close to the situation have weighed in, claiming that Baumgartner is making the divorce all about herself, while asserting that Costner has already gone above and beyond in his efforts to resolve the situation. The actor allegedly offered Baumgartner $10,000 to cover moving expenses, along with $30,000 per month for a rental home. He has also agreed to honor the terms outlined in their prenuptial agreement by paying her $1 million. Additionally, he offered her the assistance of household staff during the move and pledged to cover 100% of their children’s expenses.

According to court documents, Baumgartner’s refusal to vacate the Santa Barbara property has impacted the post-production process of Costner’s latest film, Horizon: An American Saga. The actor claims that he has been forced to alter his plans for the movie due to the ongoing dispute.

Both parties have taken to revealing financial and personal information about each other throughout the divorce proceedings. Baumgartner has revealed alleged extravagant spending by the family, including significant expenses for their homes. In response, Costner has claimed that his ex-wife spent nearly $200,000 per month on plastic surgery.

The divorce between Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner shows no signs of cooling down. The couple is scheduled to appear in court on July 5 for a case-management conference. As more details about their split continue to emerge, we will keep you updated on the latest developments.
